Our Philips 3T MRI allows us to obtain true human-quality images with twice the resolution in half the time of a common 1.5T MRI. This means your pet spends less time under anesthesia and you get a precise diagnosis. 3T MRI is very rare in veterinary medicine, but you could be missing something without it, especially for small dogs and cats. Our imaging approach involves much more than state-of-the-art technology and extends to our communication and collaboration with you and your vet.

We will always recommend the lowest cost, most effective imaging tool that will get you the answer and the diagnosis you need. Often this means an ultrasound is the best choice for imaging your pet. It's fast, cost-effective, and allows us to perform a range of image-guided biopsies like Fine Needle Aspirates, and quickly get answers using our in-house digital cytology lab. We also offer echocardiography or ultrasound of the heart and all consultations are read by a board-certified veterinary cardiologist.

At Sage Veterinary Imaging, image-guided biopsies represent a cutting-edge approach to diagnosing pet health concerns with precision and care. This minimally invasive procedure uses advanced imaging technologies like ultrasound, CT, or MRI to accurately guide a needle to the target area, allowing for precise tissue sampling without unnecessary surgery. The process minimizes stress, recovery time, and the risk of complications, ensuring your furry friend’s comfort and safety.

Our onsite IDEXX digital cytology lab allows us to take biopsies and blood samples, and turn those into a diagnosis within hours of your pet's visit. This is a very recent advancement in veterinary medicine that allows us to investigate a range of possible conditions and make recommendations for additional treatment or imaging while your pet is still in our care, rather than having you come back at a later date.

Through our partner, CATT - Centers for Advanced Thyroid Therapy, we perform thyroid imaging (scintigraphy) to precisely understand the stage and extent of your cat's hyperthyroidism. Then we inject their thyroid with radioactive I-131 to shrink the overactive thyroid tissue.

In the vast majority of cats, I-131 is a permanent cure for hyperthyroidism and it is a one-time treatment--they stay with us for two days and are released to you once their radiation level falls to safe limits as dictated by state regulations and medical safety. This same treatment has been performed safely on humans for decades and is highly effective, leading to a major improvement in quality of life and elimination of expensive thyroid medications.
